Linens/Sheets
We ask that you bring your own bed sheets and bath towels.  You will need sheets for 1 queen bed, 1 full bed, and 2 twin beds.  Quilts, blankets, and pillows are provided.  If you prefer to rent fresh linens you can contact Linen Ladies or Sea Dreams Linen Service.

Babysitting Services

Trash & Recycling
Trash pickup is every Tuesday and recycling pickup is every Thursday.

Location & Travel
Dogwood House is located at 403 Madison Avenue, Cape May, NJ 08204.  To map directions, click here.

Cape May is approximately four hours from Washington D.C., one-and-a-half hours from Philadelphia, and three hours from New York City.  Buy an EZ Pass and save lots of time on the toll roads.  Visitors from Washington, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware may consider traveling via the Cape May-Lewes Ferry as an alternative to driving.

Beach Rules
During the summer, beach tags are required to gain entrance to Cape May’s beaches. Dogwood House has six complementary beach tags for its guests (please don’t take them home with you). Children under 12 can go on the beach for free. When you come back from the beach, please rinse off sand from your feet and legs in the outdoor shower or with the garden hose.

Cleaning
We kindly ask that you clean the house before leaving so the next guests can enjoy their stay at Dogwood House.  You can call Gofers House Cleaning Service or clean it yourself. Gofers can be reached at (609) 884-1997. 


We ask that you:

  • Wash all dishes, silverware, pots and pans
  • Wipe down all counters, sink, stove and appliances
  • Clean out refrigerator entirely (don’t leave any leftover food or drinks)
  • Make beds with covers
  • Vacuum carpets and mop floors
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Replace furniture that has been moved and dust it
